Lukoil says CEO Alekperov to resign, leave board of directors

MOSCOW, Apr 21 (PRIME) -- CEO Vagit Alekperov has notified Russian oil major Lukoil of his decision to resign ahead of schedule and leave the board of directors as well, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

“President and member of the board of directors of Lukoil Vagit Alekperov has notified the company of his decision to step down from the board of directors of Lukoil and also resign from his position of the president of Lukoil ahead of schedule,” the company said.

Lukoil sent the corresponding notifications to the chairman of the board of directors.

As of March 31, Alekperov owned a 3.12% stake in Lukoil with voting rights and was a beneficiary of a 5.43% stake without voting rights.
